Education
We secured a contract with Inverclyde Council to provide maintenance and painting works to council owned buildings; one of which was Binnie Street Children’s Centre in Bourock, where we carried out internal redecoration and associated prior to paint repairs to classrooms and circulation areas. The building of Binnie Street Children’s Centre has been in place since 1876 and became a listed building in 1979.

There were between 2 and 4 directly employed and local Trident operatives engaged on this contract, and we worked with Inverclyde Council to carefully plan a sequence of operations which was repeated daily.
KPIs were monitored through Customer Satisfaction Surveys and we measured quality of work by carrying out regular site checks. Communication was maintained between Trident and the client through pre-start meetings, site meetings, email and telephone. We arranged a separate site meeting with the Building Manager to agree access arrangements, deliveries to site and programming of works to minimise any possible disruption to the building users.
Health and safety arrangements were evaluated by site surveys carried out by the Contracts Manager prior to starting and information obtained from the client. A health and safety pack was produced and briefed to all site operatives, containing a Construction Phase Plan, site induction, site rules, risk assessment, method statement and Toolbox Talks.
Twice weekly site visits were carried out by the Contracts Manager to review the working arrangements and to ensure the works were being carried out in a safe manner as per the health and safety pack. Ad-hoc health and safety site audits were carried out to review the arrangements on site, ensuring they remained sufficient as the works progressed.
