Homemead is a private residential care home owned by Aster Group in Teddington, Greater London, specialising in dementia care. With limited space to work within the scheme, we worked closely with the management of the home to programme each area and carefully sequence each phase, working around resident get up times, meal times, busy visiting periods and activity times to ensure as little disruption to their daily routines as possible. This included working evenings, weekends and overnight where required to complete areas such as the communal lounge, cinema room and dining room.

We applied a Crown Timonox fireproof system within all communal areas and fire routes within the scheme. Multiple colours were applied in each area, with over 20 different colours used throughout the building and consideration given to using dementia friendly colour pallets that would support resident recognition, help to orientate residents and provide a more homely feel.
Works were completed within budget and ahead of programme, much to the delight of the residents and staff. Such is the quality of the project, it has been selected as a Finalist in the Residential Category at the Painting and Decorating Association’s Premier Trophy Awards 2025.
