We were very pleased to secure a contract to provide fire protective coatings to each stairwell of the iconic blocks of flats of Hatton House, Shearsmith House and Stockholm House of Swedenborg Gardens and Beckley House, London for Eastend Homes.
The blocks of flats range from 13 storeys to 26 storeys high. With countless and varied coats of paint having been applied over the years, many of the areas were friable. We mechanically stripped all the walls and ceilings of the stairwells back to the original render to achieve the best surface to apply an Integra Fire Protective Coating System to achieve the required 10-year guarantee and peace of mind to both the residents and Eastend Homes.
Each block was fully occupied during the fire improvement works which required considerable communication and resident engagement to ensure both the residents’ safety and their ease of movement within each block. To safeguard this, all aspects of health and safety were evaluated through site surveys and daily audits including our approach to Covid-19 safety. Strict risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and Construction Phase Plans (CPHSP) supported by comprehensive site inductions and Toolbox Talks ensured total site safety and zero incidents.
All works were delivered by a dedicated team of highly trained trades-staff directly employed by Trident who demonstrated their expertise and knowledge by completing the works to an exceptionally high standard, to programme and within budget.
