Case Study

Formerly a large substantial house, now converted to flats, Clock House was built in the early 18th century. It was modified in the 19th century which included a projecting pilastered porch and a tented canopied first floor veranda across the whole front which is supported upon iron "Saracenic" piers. The interior has beautiful polished black and white marble flooring and bolection moulded oak panelling to the entrance hall.

Scope of Works

  • Internal and external redecorations
  • Carpentry repairs
  • New flooring

Duration

16 Weeks

Clock House is a Grade II Listed building owned by Waltham Forest Council. With our extensive experience in carrying out projects of this nature, we were selected as the best contractor for the job to deliver internal and external decorations, carpentry repairs and new flooring as part of the heritage/conservation works.

Overseen by Head of Operations, we allocated a highly skilled team of 7 painters and 2 carpenters who were dedicated to the project for its duration.

We carried out painting and repairs to the external masonry, painting to all windows and doors including repairs using the DryFlex Repair Care system, with all operatives fully trained in the correct use/application of all products. Due to Clock House being a Grade II Listed building, we had to ensure that the correct materials/procedures were in place with these approved by the Conservation Officer prior to commencement of the works.

We held discussions with the client during mobilisation to agree a formal programme of works and all site processes and procedures. We held regular progress meetings to review all aspects of the contract to ensure compliance with client-specific criteria including meeting customer needs, KPI targets and achieving programme whilst meeting high quality standards, fostering a positive working relationship.

Prior to the commencement of works we ensured that all components were assessed by a competent person using a safe system of work and that the works were properly planned in advance, for total site safety.
