Housing
Anchor is a not-for-profit organisation and England’s largest provider of specialist housing and care – both for rent and sale – to those aged 55 and over. They manage 54,000 homes across almost 1,700 sites, including more than 120 care homes and serving more than 65,000 residents.
10 years
We were selected to deliver internal and external redecoration works and services to properties across Anchor’s entire North Region comprising 862 locations, from Northampton up to the Scottish borders, as part of their asset investment programme.
Internal decoration and associated repairs are carried out to communal areas, including to walls, ceilings, doors, lift doors, windows and handrails. External decoration and repairs are carried out to car park lines/bays, metal railings, handrails, timber fascias, soffits and gable end boarding, timber cladding, gas and electric meter covers, timber gates, perimeter timber fences, bin store doors and estate signage posts/rails.
Great care needs to be taken in planning and delivery to cater for a high volume of vulnerable residents – especially those with dementia.
As part of our Social Value commitment on the contract, we have recently refreshed and redecorated the community room at Hanover Gardens retirement scheme, transforming it into a welcoming and social space for residents to enjoy. Complete with new furnishings and a donated pool table, it’s now the heart of this close-knit community. We have also gifted some accessible planters to the residents of Wynyard Woods care home for their communal garden, with our Community Support Officer and Contracts Supervisor helping the residents to plant them for the first time.
