Introductions

Hanover Housing Association and Anchor Trust merged in November 2018 to become Anchor Hanover with over 54,000 homes across almost 1,700 sites in England. They are a trusted care home provider with over 100 care homes offering older people personally tailored residential and dementia care.

Trident secured the care homes internal and external redecorations including pre-paint repairs contract. The internal scope of works consisted of communal corridors, stairs, lounges, bathrooms, guestrooms and offices. The external scope of works comprised of full redecorations including repairs to doors, railings and fencing as well as the upgrade of fascias and soffits with UPVC.

Before commencement, we met with each Scheme Manager to agree site specific security measures and safe systems of working to protect the residents.

Due to the vulnerability of the residents, each morning we held an informal meeting with each Scheme Manager to discuss the day’s activities and to consider any situation that may have arisen overnight.

This ensured the redecorating was completed to the client’s requirement while meeting the strictest health and safety standards and the highest levels of quality. Our approach caused minimal disruption to the residents and their daily routine.

We held weekly Progress Meetings with the client to ensure full compliance criteria and programme timetable including achieving KPI targets and budget.

To maximise value for money we worked closely with the paint manufacturer to improve the maintenance lifecycle.  We also used water-based, quick-drying low odour gloss paints enabling the residents to use the communal areas at the earliest time possible.
