Bill Robson

Chairman

Having served on a PLC board of a FTSE 250 company, being Managing Director of a property services business for over 30 years and achieving an annual turnover of over £600m (part of a £2.4bn pa PLC business); I decided to set up Trident Maintenance Services with a simple Mission and Vision. Our Mission is to provide painting solutions that transform the experience of our customers, employees and the communities in which we work, with a vision of being a trusted partner to both customers and our own people, offering outstanding delivery through dedication, training and sustainable resource.


Kenny Robson

Managing Director

I have been involved in the painting and refurbishment industry for over 20 years after graduating with a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Strathclyde Business School in 1999. I’ve progressed from Quantity Surveyor to Commercial Manager and possess strong leadership skills. During my career I have developed a thorough knowledge and understanding of all market sectors and I’m experienced at assisting clients with specifications and offering advice on alternative cost-efficient methods. I am a motivated team player who is results driven with a clear focus on quality of customer service.

I have a wealth of experience and a proven track record in all aspects of partnering and contract management including mobilisation, service delivery, performance management, value engineering and continuous improvement. I have been involved in multiple £1m+ projects and measured terms contracts greater than 5 years.

Andrew Waldron

Finance Director

I worked in an accountancy practice for 17 years before moving to Trident to become the Finance Director. In my previous role I joined as a trainee accountant and worked my way up to Associate level, managing a large portfolio of clients across various sectors. In 2014, I qualified with ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

I have broad experience in accounting and business systems and have guided many businesses in various aspects of accounting for many years. In my role at Trident, I will lead the company’s finances and work with the stakeholders on financial strategy

Alan Baker

National Account Manager

I am a fully qualified painter and decorator, becoming a painting and decorating apprentice upon leaving school, and have been in the paint industry for 38 years. I have worked in the North West for the last 22 years, 11 of which saw me working for Dulux Paints both as paint specifier and contractor sales. This role involved specifying all suitable products across all sectors (Housing, Property Management, Education, Retail & Leisure, Health and Industrial). I also worked for a specialist fire coating (Class 0 and EN Class B paints) company for over 3 years as a specifications manager, for fire upgrade solutions. I have also worked for over 6 years as a business development manager for the largest UK national paint companies.

I have a strong desire to provide outstanding customer service and I am confident that my extensive knowledge of both paint application and products specification will bring genuine value for money and customer peace of mind.

Lauren Pringle

Bids, Accreditations & Marketing Manager

I started my career at Bid Administrator level, organically working my way up to Bid Coordinator and then onto my current position as Bids, Accreditations and Marketing Manager with Trident. I have a genuine passion for what I do and enjoy the fast-paced and varied nature of the bid environment. I pride myself on my strong attention to detail and the smooth management of the end-to-end bid process, working closely with our senior management, sales and operational teams to develop bid-winning strategies and to produce high quality proposal documents that reflect the core values of Trident..

As part of my role, I am responsible for ensuring continual compliance with key accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Constructionline, CHAS and SafeContractor – ensuring that we are continually meeting and exceeding client requirements. I am also responsible for our website, social media management and marketing activities to maximise awareness of the Trident brand.

Claire Robson

Fleet Manager

Since qualifying from the University of Nottingham with a postgraduate degree, accredited by the RICS, I gained excellent experience in the construction industry for a larger interiors specialist. I developed a passion for attention to detail and delighting the customer. I love to work in a fast-paced environment and Trident provide me with a great platform to satisfy my ambitions. After leaving the industry to have the best job in the world as a full-time mum I decided to embark on a career change to focus on finance, fleet management and supporting the Finance Director which allowed me more flexibility with my work-life balance.

Mark Hetherington

Regional Manager (North)

With 24+ years’ experience in the construction industry, 15 of those have focused on painting and refurbishments. I graduated from Northumbria University in 2003 (Honours Degree Architectural Technology), and again in 2010 (Honours Degree Construction Project Management). Specialising in Commercial Management I have held senior positions leading national teams for the last 11 years. During my career I have expanded my skills in all sectors, where I have had repeated success in managing bids for the largest scale projects in the marketplace, while simultaneously mobilising and managing the delivery of these £multi-million projects.

Over my career, I have attained a wealth of experience in value engineering, cost management/reporting, project estimation and strategising business improvements, which I hope to pass on to the future generations and assisting them to grow within Trident. Employees make a business and I have a passion for investing in individuals through opportunities via job creation, apprenticeships, and further education.

Craig Cluney

Head of Operations (North West)

On leaving school I started as an apprentice painter and decorator. Over the last 30 years I have worked throughout the UK decorating on construction sites as well as Retail and Leisure, before returning to the North West gaining invaluable experience whilst working my way through the ranks to Contracts Manager and now in my current position as Head of Operations (North West) for Trident Maintenance Services.

I have managed all aspects of commercial painting and decorating including pre-painting repairs, Social Housing, Construction, Education, Retail & Leisure, Healthcare to name a few. My aim is always to provide outstanding quality in the safest way possible, so I am excited to see where we at Trident are going and the opportunity of meeting and working with new clients.

Rob Gilbert

Head of Operations (South)

I have been in the painting and decorating industry for 40 years starting as an apprentice and working my way up through various senior managerial positions to my current role as Head of Operations (South) for Trident Maintenance Services.

Throughout my career I have been involved in delivering some of the largest painting contracts throughout southern England and Wales in a safe and pragmatic way, dealing with issues at board level and on the doorstep of residents making sure they get the full benefit from the works being delivered. With my wealth of knowledge I can advise clients on specifications, innovations and access with forward thinking to deliver an outstanding result that exceeds expectations.

Allan Bustard

Head of Operations (Scotland)

My role is Head of Operations for Scotland with over 28 years’ experience in the painting and decorating industry gaining extensive knowledge of product selection and specifications throughout this time. It’s never been more important to lookout for new innovative products coming on to the market that can provide value for money to our clients.

My aim is to provide a great experience through understanding our client’s requirements and then delivering a quality finish within programme and budget. To achieve this, I carry out thorough pre-start site surveys to deliver the safest and most cost-effective manner to execute the works resulting in a good working environment for our operatives and providing value for our clients.

Richard Russell

Head of Operations (London & South East)

I have been working in the painting and decorating industry since leaving school aged 17, starting with the completion of my apprenticeship in painting and decorating, Ames taping, Artexing and tiling. Shortly after completing my apprenticeship, I started up my own business which grew to four branches throughout the North East of Scotland. The last 10+ years have seen me execute roles within the sector in contract management, development, branch/divisional management and operational management which has provided me with detailed knowledge within the industry, which I now bring to Trident as the Head of Operations for London and the South East.

Over my career I have covered a broad spectrum of projects including internal and external decorations in both the private and public sectors, new builds, National Trust and historic venues, stadiums, racecourses, Royal Households, Crown Estates, seaside pleasure rides, factories, schools/colleges and universities.

As well as operational management, I am also competent in commercial management and therefore can take an opportunity right through from initial enquiry to final accounting, from a smaller one-off painting project to a large 5 or 10 year programmed maintenance contract.

Jamie Cowell

Senior QS

Starting as a trainee surveyor and now with over 10 years’ experience in the painting & decorating industry I am now the Senior Quantity Surveyor for Scotland. I have commercially managed numerous projects over my career, varying from short-term small value works to high value long-term contracts. I have a wealth of personal experience across multiple sectors including Construction, Housing, Leisure, Retail and Local Government.

I strive to provide outstanding customer service by delivering projects on time and to budget. I have a strong knowledge of paint specifications and always aim to offer our clients the best value for money.

Kevin Christie

Senior QS

I have worked as a quantity surveyor in the paint industry, commencing in north Scotland, for over 20 years. After moving to Glasgow, I spent 5 years as part of the national Bid Team responsible for major tender opportunities across the UK. Having spent some time working in the North West in my national role, I took the opportunity to move to the area and resume the day-to-day responsibilities of a senior surveyor for the region.

During my time I have gained considerable experience of Local Government, Housing, Health, Construction, Leisure and Retail, Manufacturing and Education sectors working on large complex projects.

Calum Challice

Quantity Surveyor

I started my career as a trainee surveyor and have now been surveying for over 6 years, previously in the fabric refurbishment sector. I have commercially managed a vast number of projects over my career, varying from intricate Grade 2 listed buildings to smaller term painting contracts, with values varying from £5,000 to upwards of £3m. I have worked in numerous sectors including Construction, Social Housing, Hotel & Leisure, Retail, Education, Healthcare and Heritage.

I am a passionate and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and to budget. I am committed to providing outstanding customer service and I like to build strong relationships with my clients by being responsive, communicative and proactive. I am also a team player and I am always willing to go the extra mile to help my team succeed.

Mark Bannon

Contracts Manager (South)

I have worked in the construction industry for over 25 years, starting as an apprentice and working my way up the career ladder. I have been a Contracts Manager for over 10 years with Trident and previously another large national contractor. My role is the overall control of the contract, including quoting the works, pre-construction health and safety and all aspects of health and safety throughout the works, organising the sites and labour requirements, ordering materials, reporting to the Head of Operations with commercial information and client liaison.

My goal is to make sure client relations are positive and successful, ensuring the contracts run how the client and business expect them to. I’m very passionate about working for Trident and my main focus is generating good results for everyone.

Alan Arthur

Contracts Manager (London)

I have worked in the painting and decorating industry for over 36 years, from serving my apprenticeship and working my way up from Painter and Decorator, to Foreman, to Site Supervisor and now to my role as Contracts Manager with Trident.

I have detailed experience in managing a range of contracts across London and the surrounding areas in a variety of sectors, including Social Housing, Healthcare, Education and Commercial. I have a keen worth ethic and my experience has provided me with extensive knowledge and expertise in the trade which I am able to bring to my role with Trident, ensuring our contracts are delivered on time and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Lee Birch

Contracts Manager (North East)

I began my career as an apprentice Painter & Decorator straight from school and have remained in the painting and decorating industry for over 30 years. Throughout my career, I have been committed to delivering high quality maintenance solutions, overseeing projects across the North East, whilst always ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

I have managed projects in all sectors of the painting industry, from construction to social housing, leading £multi-million contracts and delivering these to programme, within budget and to a high standard of quality and safety. I always aim to create a friendly and welcoming environment for our operatives, clients and their end users. My extensive background in the field means I am a valuable asset to the Trident team where I can lead and excel in the ever-evolving world of decoration and maintenance services.

Chris Redden

Business Development Manager (South)

I have been working as a Business Development Manager in the Property Maintenance sector for 22+ years, working for a large national Facilities Management company before joining Trident in 2020 as a Regional Business Development Manager across the South/South West of the UK. During my early career, I also worked ‘on the tools’ for over 8 years as a Painter & Decorator for a local building company which has provided me with unique insight from a business development perspective.

Over the years, I have made many contacts and friends in our sector and bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding to my role with Trident, to the benefit of both new and existing clients, ensuring we can provide a first-class service from initial dialogue and throughout our contracts from inception through to completion.

Lorraine Hetherington

Community Support Officer

I have 26 years of client-facing experience, starting with an apprenticeship as a Customer Service Advisor completing an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Administration and Customer Services. During this time, I was awarded National Service Advisor of the Year 2005.

I have worked within the painting and decorating industry since 2015 in customer service and resident/community liaison roles, with Trident and previously with another large painting contractor. I strive to establish and deliver on promises which support Trident’s commercial bids and ensure benefits and Social Value outcomes are realised for our clients, their customers and the local communities in which we work. I have recently coordinated work experience placements, apprenticeships, the redecoration of a community learning hub delivered as a gesture of goodwill, and supported residents for our Social Housing clients.

Mary Bruce

Payroll and Business Support Manager

My career started as a Junior Wages Clerkess for a Civil Engineering company. I have worked in the construction industry for the last 30 years, mainly in Payroll and Finance positions. I am a conscientious and reliable worker with strong communication skills and work well under pressure. My role with Trident is to assist in the day-to-day running of the payroll and ensure this runs in a smooth and professional manner, as well as providing a range of business support when required.
