Our Commitment
Our commitment as a socially responsible employer is a central part of our daily activities and at the core of what we do. Our approach to social value means delivering services in ways that produce wider benefit to improve economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the local community. We capture longer-term savings and ensure local positive outcomes are delivered for our clients and partners.
We are committed to using energy and natural resources as efficiently as possible and closely monitor electricity, gas, fuel and water consumption. We are accredited to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards which supports and enhances our focus on environmental performance while reducing consumption, waste and costs.
We are committed to support local suppliers, social enterprises and small sized businesses by working collaboratively and positively with existing local initiatives and are constantly exploring how we can work better together in the future.
We have chosen Maggie’s Centres Lanarkshire as our Charity of the Year which will see us play a small part in assisting them to raise money to continue to develop the already incredible support they provide.
The space provides opportunity for people seeking cancer support to come in for a cup of tea, meet people who understand what they are going through or just to take a moment to gather their thoughts, with free one-to-one help and information provided from the Maggie's professional team.
“Everyone is touched by cancer in their lives in some way. What makes Maggie's Centres unique is that they provide cancer care in a more informal setting as opposed to the more clinical nature of hospitals, whilst bringing people together in a relaxed, friendly and uplifting space. The option of sitting round the kitchen table sharing experiences, reading a book in the peaceful tranquillity of the lounge or relaxing in the beautiful landscaped gardens provides a wonderful support to people requiring cancer support and alleviates the stress for a disease that touches nearly everyone’s lives in some way. I had the great pleasure of being invited by Val Smith to the Maggie's Centre in Lanarkshire recently and was staggered at the quality of the beautiful setting, the wonderful staff and the available options to patients, their families and friends. Trident are delighted to play our part in supporting the continued development of their 26no support centres throughout the UK and also to add more as they are able to.”
Kenny Robson, Trident's MD visited the centre for a coffee and a chat with Val Smith, Centre Fundraising Manager and was blown away by the design of the centre and level of support options available, and wanted to do more to ensure that Maggie's can continue to be there for Lanarkshire families affected by cancer.
